Made in Laak

For Made in Laak, I work on making stories from the Laak neighborhood in The Hague visible.

Made in Laak is a platform where residents, entrepreneurs, and organizations share their stories. It shows the neighborhood as it is: diverse, energetic, and constantly evolving. Stories are created by and for residents, with a focus on what is happening in the neighborhood.

Within this project, I collaborate with the creators on both photography and video. I capture portraits, create reports, and produce video material centering on residents and initiatives. Additionally, I regularly interview people from the neighborhood to visualize their stories in a personal and accessible way.

My role within Made in Laak is to translate these stories visually, with attention to context, humanity, and authenticity. The images are used for social media and communication, and contribute to the visibility and image of the neighborhood.

Through this collaboration, an ongoing archive of stories is created that shows what is going on in Laak.
